2026 SCottish Festival
CELEBRATING 200+ YEARS of SCOTTISH HERITAGE
Saturday, july 11, 2026

at Hammond Museum, 1A N Main St, (Rt 37) Hammond, NY

As the year 2018 came near, our museum board decided it would be great to have a Scottish festival, commemorating the 200th anniversary of the arrival of the town's first Scottish immigrants. A day before the festival, we had a bus tour of many local stone houses (mostly built by Scottish stone masons). The next day was one of great celebration on the Hammond Museum grounds with Celtic music and dancing, Highland game demonstrations, 1800s demos of blacksmithing, spinning & weaving. Various craft vendors sold their wares & there was good food & the firemen's chicken BBQ as well. Since we planned the festival for the same day as the firemen's field day, we had the Brockville Bagpipe Band lead the parade.  Some of the floats displayed an early settler or Scottish theme.
