  • Frederic Remington Art Museum ~ Frederick Remington created many of his famous paintings while living on an island in Chippewa Bay!  He often used local people for his models.  While in the area be sure to visit this state of the art museum in Ogdensburg, New York only 20 minutes from Hammond ~  www.fredericremington.org

Castle Sightseeing & Tours:
  • Singer Castle--Singer Castle is an architectural treasure of the Thousand Islands. It was built on Dark Island (Chippewa Bay) in 1905 by multi-millionaire Frederick Bourne of the Singer Sewing Machine Company.  The castle was completed, furnished and lived in for 100 years. The granite towers, great rooms, Italian marble fireplaces, secret passages and many of the original furnishings are still there. Guided tours are available via a Castle Shuttle from Schermerhorn Harbor Marina in Hammond.  SingerCastle.com
  • Crossover Island Lighthouse ~ located just off the shores of Oak Point, a hamlet of Hammond!
